Window Boxes

Last weekend, we created homemade window boxes out of some extra wood we had laying around.

My expectations were so small...but Taylor really pulled out all the stops and blew me away with his carpentry!

We've been saving some pieces of original wood that we ripped out when we remodeled our kitchen a couple years back, so we were able to incorporated those in the boxes.  This house was built in 1939, so the wood used is so much more rough than what we would buy at the store today.  It still has bark on it in places, and the cut is much more imperfect...i.e. all the rustic character!

They're not perfect, but I love the way they turned out!

Will definitely be posting a tutorial soon, but for now here's a few images of the finished product!
